Kunsthal Rotterdam
Kunsthal Rotterdam is an exceptional exhibition hall that houses some 25 expositions annually. The Kunsthal displays culture in the broadest sense of the word: traditional and cutting-edge art, design and photography, from elitist to popular.
ExhibitionsThe Kunsthal frequently experiments with themes which in many cases provide the first impulse for an exhibition. This approach has resulted in an exciting and varied exhibition repertoire highlighting Impressionism, lingerie, Leonardo da Vinci, Blackfoot Indians, Jewels of the Orient, Pop-art.
The Kunsthal has no own collection, it is not a museum. It programs exhibitions with unique themes and artists, which are not shown anywhere in Holland.
The different exhibitions are ment to strengthen eachother, to have an interesting mix of famous artists like Edward Hopper or Niki de St. Phalle to family exhibitions on Romans, development, Tour de France or the history of Musicals in Holland. The Kunsthal also pays attention to societal themes, young talent, fotography and fashion.
More than 3300 square metres of exhibition space are available in the striking building designed by Rotterdam architect Rem Koolhaas - a work of art in its own right, making a visit to the Kunsthal well worth your while.
